2009 Quota random selection process completed

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) have conducted its computer-generated random selection processes to select petitions towards this year’s H1B and H1B Advanced Degree quota. The H1B quota is of 65,000 and the advanced degree quota is of 20,000. USCIS had received around 163,000 petitions in the first five days of filing period this year.

As we all know, the random selection process sorts through and randomly picks the particular numerical codes that are assigned to each petitions when their details are fed into the computer system. Now that the selection is complete, USCIS will inform the appropriate service centers of the cases that have been selected and the centers will then proceed to adjudicate the cases.
