I-601 Procedural Changes Not Yet in Effect

USCIS has released a statement to remind the public that the I-601 Provisional Waiver, which would apply to certain qualifying family members of United States Citizens, is not yet in effect. USCIS posted on its website that the procedural changes to the waiver application process are still under consideration and will not go into effect until they are officially published in the Federal Register. Potential applicants should be warned not to apply early, as USCIS will reject all waivers filed under the proposed procedures until a final rule has been reached. For more information, and to keep up to date on the proposed changes to the I-601, Application for Waiver of Grounds of Inadmissibility, please see the USCIS website.
