Affidavits of Experience for I-140 Beneficiaries

The samples below demonstrate the kind of information that USCIS expects to see in a letter attesting to the experience of a candidate for an I-140. The statements below are merely samples. Every sworn affidavit should  reflect the specific details of the individual beneficiary’s case, and the deponent’s relationship with the beneficiary.

AFFIDAVIT OF COWORKER

I, Kevin Lee, do solemnly state and affirm the following:

  1. I am 27 years old and otherwise competent to make this affidavit.
  2. I am currently employed with Pine Tree Electrical Services.
  3. During the period June 2007 through August 2010, I was employed with Leafy Tree Technologies in the capacity of Programmer Analyst.
  4. From September 2007 to August 2010 I was a co-worker of Anthony Fairchild, who also worked for Leafy Tree Technologies as a Programmer Analyst
  5. To my knowledge, Mr. Fairchild worked no less than 40 hours per week.
  6. I certify that, to the best of my knowledge, Mr. Fairchild performed the following duties as a Programmer Analyst:
  • Develop and direct software system testing.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements.
  • Design, develop and modify software systems.
  • Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance.
AFFIDAVIT OF SUPERVISOR

I, Lisa Bell, do solemnly state and affirm the following:

  1. I am over 35 years old and otherwise competent to make this affidavit.
  2. I am currently, employed with Thorny Branch Technologies, located at 123 Main Street, Quaint Town, WA 10101
  3. During the period from September 2007 to January 2011, I was employed with Leafy Tree Technologies, located at 765 Microtech Blvd., Pleasantville, MD 54201, in the capacity of Supervisory Analyst.
  4. From September 2007 to January 2011, I supervised Anthony Fairchild, who worked for Leafy Tree Technologies as a Programmer Analyst for no less than 40 hours per week.
  5. I certify that he performed the following duties:
  • Develop and direct software system testing.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements.
  • Design, develop and modify software systems.
  • Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance.
