The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services announced Tuesday afternoon that the FY2013 H-1B Cap Season has officially closed. USCIS stated that all cap subject petitions received after the close of business Monday, June 11, will be denied. USCIS received a sufficient number of petitions to fill the 65,000 visa cap on Monday, shortly after the Masters’ cap exception of 20,000 closed on Friday, June 7.
No more petitions will be accepted for new H-1B employment starting in the fiscal year 2013 (beginning October 1, 2012). USCIS will continue to accept cap exempt H-1B petitions as usual. For more information on the end of the FY2013 cap season, please visit the USCIS website.
