July 2012 Visa Bulletin

The Department of State has released the July 2012 Visa Bulletin. The EB2 category for immigrants from India and Mainland China remains unavailable at this time. The EB2 category has retrogressed in all other areas of chargeability to January 1, 2009. Priority dates for most other employment-based categories have remained fairly steady, varying by a month or so in either direction.

For more information and to see the complete bulletin, please visit the Department of State’s website.

  1. Hi! I am from the Philippines. I have read the recent visa bulletin regarding priority date to be set Jan 1 2009. I have an on on going EB2 petition filed on Jan, 2012. It was sent to NVC on Feb and we received confirmation from them on March 13, 2012. When my agent called the NVC they said that that final processing of my case was on completed on May 18, 2012. It was now moved from March 13, 2012 to May 18, 2012. I was told by my agent that my I am now waiting for my exit interview to be scheduled within 60-90 days.

I am confused if I am also affected with the recent visa bulletin released by the DOS? Is there possibility that I will not be queued for interview because of these recent announcement?

Hoping for enlightenment with the matter.
Thank you very much in advance.

  2. Kwik,

Unfortunately, until a visa number is assigned to you, your case can be affected by the retrogression of priority dates. You may still be scheduled for your interview if the consulate you are attending has extra visa numbers, but it is more likely than not that your interview will be delayed until more visa numbers become available.

  3. Christine,

I am planing to file under EB2 category for 2013 year, so please throw your concerns suggestions for going forward for this?

    Thanks in advance,
